Spring-fed wild swimming lake at Secret Valley wellness retreat in Somerset

400 Acres of Quiet

Wellness Retreats & Team Wellbeing Days in a Hidden Somerset Valley

A spring-fed swimming lake, a lakeside sauna, massage treatments in the Pamper Pod and yoga on the meadow. Real ways to slow down, whether you bring a small team or a gathering of over 200.

For Teams

Corporate Wellbeing Days That Actually Restore People

Most team wellbeing days happen in a meeting room with a slideshow about stress. Ours happen in a valley: cold water, warm sauna, open sky and good food around a fire. Teams leave calmer than they arrived, and it shows in how they work together afterwards.

  • Day visits or overnight stays, from small teams to over 200 colleagues
  • Yoga and breathwork with trusted local instructors
  • Wild swimming and lakeside sauna sessions
  • Barn space for any workshop or quiet-time sessions
  • Firepit lunches, BBQs or catered meals, all diets covered

Planning a full offsite instead? Wellbeing sessions slot neatly into a corporate retreat or away day as a morning or afternoon block.

For Groups

Wellness Weekends, the Calm Kind of Celebration

Not every hen party wants cocktails and a nightclub. More groups are choosing the other version: a weekend of morning swims, sauna sessions, massages in the Pamper Pod and long evenings around the firepit. Together, offline and genuinely rested by Sunday.

  • Hen parties, friends' resets and milestone birthdays
  • Glamping accommodation so everyone stays together
  • Treatments, swims and sauna bookable across the weekend
  • Private, quiet setting, no other crowds

The Real Thing

Four Ways to Unwind, All On Site

No borrowed spa, no bussed-in extras. Everything below lives here in the valley.

Wild Swimming Lake

Our spring-fed lake is open April to October for cold-water swims that leave you buzzing for hours. It runs on a proper safety system: digital waiver, buddy rule, minimum age 16, because cold water deserves respect.

Lake rules & waiver

Lakeside Sauna

New for this year: a sauna right by the water. Heat up, plunge into the lake, repeat. The hot-cold contrast loved by wellbeing programmes everywhere, in an actual valley rather than a gym.

The Pamper Pod

Abby, our qualified massage therapist, runs treatments from a dedicated pod tucked into the countryside: Swedish, aromatherapy, hot stone and Indian head massage, reflexology and facials, from 30 to 60 minutes.

Treatments & booking

Meadow & Lakeside Yoga

Local yoga and breathwork teachers lead sessions on the meadow or by the lake, moving into the barns when weather demands. Suitable for complete beginners through to regular practitioners.

Good to Know

Common Questions

Do you run corporate wellbeing days?+

Yes. Teams of every size use Secret Valley for wellbeing days, from intimate leadership groups to gatherings of over 200 guests, typically a mix of barn workshop time, meadow or lakeside yoga, wild swimming or sauna sessions, and a firepit lunch. Day visits and overnight residential formats both work, and enquiries usually receive an outline proposal within 24 hours.

Can you arrange yoga and mindfulness instructors?+

Yes. We work with trusted local yoga and breathwork teachers who lead sessions on the meadow, by the lake, or inside the barns if the weather turns. Tell us your group size and preferred style and we'll arrange the right instructor.

Is wild swimming supervised? Is it safe?+

Swimming in our spring-fed lake is at your own risk, with no lifeguard, but it runs on a proper safety system: every swimmer completes a digital safety waiver, a buddy system applies (no swimming alone), the minimum age is 16, and wetsuits are recommended outside the warmest months. The lake is open seasonally from April to October.

Can we book spa treatments for a group?+

Yes. The Pamper Pod is run by Abby, a qualified massage therapist, offering treatments including Swedish, aromatherapy, hot stone and Indian head massage, reflexology and facials. Sessions run 30, 45 or 60 minutes and are by appointment, so for groups it's best to book ahead and we'll help schedule a treatment rota.

Do wellness days include food?+

Catering is flexible and can be built into your day: firepit lunches, BBQs, or caterers for plated meals. All dietary requirements can be covered, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free. Just tell us what your group needs when you enquire.

Can we combine a wellness day with an overnight stay?+

Yes. With 30 glamping units on site, a wellness day easily becomes a wellness weekend. Groups often add an overnight stay with a firepit evening, then a morning swim or yoga session before heading home.
