Secret Valley is currently unlicensed for civil ceremonies, and for most couples that turns out to be a freedom rather than a limitation. The usual approach: complete the legal paperwork with the registrar beforehand (a short, simple appointment), then have the ceremony you really want here, on the island or in the barn, led by a celebrant, with your words, your music, your moments, and no script imposed on you.
Want the detail? Read our lakeside ceremony guide, which walks through exactly how couples plan it.
And if it rains? You're covered, beautifully.
Every couple planning an outdoor wedding asks. The honest answer: the Quantock Barn gives you 300m² of characterful indoor space with the roof lining included as standard, so your ceremony, wedding breakfast and dancing can all happen inside without losing an ounce of atmosphere. Many couples plan the barn for dinner and dancing anyway, so rain simply moves the vows indoors too.

Your favourite people,
all staying on-site.
With 30+ unique stays across the valley, your guests don't go home - they stay. Glamping with character, comfort in the wild, and a slow morning-after breakfast together before anyone says goodbye.

The questions every couple asks
The Quantock Barn can seat up to 200 guests for dinner. Our on-site glamping accommodation can sleep 60+ guests across our lodges, shepherd's huts, wigwams, and belle tents.
Yes. When you book Secret Valley for your wedding, you have exclusive use of the entire site from the day before your wedding until the day after. We only ever host one wedding at a time.
Absolutely. We provide a fully equipped commercial kitchen but leave catering and supplier choices entirely to you. We're happy to recommend trusted local suppliers if you'd like a starting point.
Your wedding party stays on-site across 30+ unique glamping units, sleeping 60+ guests. Everyone wakes up together in the valley for a relaxed morning-after breakfast before saying goodbye.
Our island ceremony space is currently unlicensed, making it perfect for symbolic ceremonies. Many couples have their legal ceremony at a registry office beforehand, or arrange a celebrant to lead the ceremony here.
We'd love to show you the valley in person. Book a private tour and we'll walk you through every space, answer your questions, and help you picture your day here.
We're open for weddings from late March through the end of October, with peak season running from May to September. Arrival is from 2:30pm and departure by 10:30am.
Send us an enquiry with your preferred date and we'll confirm availability. Because we host only a handful of weddings each year, popular dates are booked well in advance.
You'll still have a beautiful day. The Quantock Barn gives you 300m² of characterful indoor space with the roof lining included as standard, so your ceremony, wedding breakfast and dancing can all move inside without losing any atmosphere. Many couples plan the barn for dinner and dancing anyway, so rain simply moves the vows indoors too.
Absolutely, it's what the venue does best. With exclusive use, glamping for 60+ guests, firepits and lawns for games, many couples plan a full Friday-to-Sunday celebration: welcome drinks on arrival night, the wedding on Saturday, and a slow Sunday breakfast before everyone heads home.
Many couples base wedding-morning preparations in one of the lodges, and our on-site Pamper Pod offers professional treatments, a lovely, calm way for the wedding party to start the day before the ceremony.
The valley keeps everyone happy: walks around the lake and vineyard, lawn games and evenings around the firepits, with the Quantock Hills right on the doorstep for those who want to explore. There's a full range of on-site activities to discover across the weekend.
Quantock Barn venue hire starts from £4,500, or from £4,750 with the lakeside ceremony included. Full pricing for every season and package is published in our wedding brochure, with no hidden extras. Guest accommodation is booked separately, and many couples pass those bookings on to their guests.
Yes, Secret Valley hosts hen parties and group celebrations throughout the year, with glamping, hot tubs, the Pamper Pod and lake activities. Some couples fall in love with the venue at a hen weekend first.
